Let the freak out begin!

Well, I got past Christmas, which was very nice btw. So now I can focus all my freaking out energy on the upcoming trip to Hawaii.

I got my swimsuit(thanks Robin) Now I just need to get the rest of it figured out. Mostly the money. We're not exactly living the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous here.

Plus what to wear. I know most of it is super casual, but we have a reception dinner and a dinner cruise to go on. I'm thinking maybe my nice black capris and a nice shirt with some black sandals for me and nice pants and shirt for Husband for the dinner cruise. The reception is the first night we get there and after 8 hours on a plane I just can't imagine we will care what we are wearing!

Anyway, I had a mini freak out yesterday and went and bought me some shorts to wear with my swim suit and Husband some new tennis shoes to wear on the beach. I worry about stupid stuff too. Do we need to take our own beach towels? Can we take the hotels towels out on the beach? Is stuff way over priced there? Is traffic outrageous? We've thought about renting a car but Husband gets way stressed out driving in bad traffic. Keep in mind we live in hicksville USA population around 3,000.

I'm sure I'll be boring you with this trip til it happens. We leave January 22nd! YIKES.

How to make sure you are wide awake in the morning

(Step 1 must be completed the day before)
1. Buy a pregnancy test, smuggle in the house.
*reason to smuggle, husband would have a heart attack, you don't feel like raising kids on your own)
2. Have a sleepless night worrying if it will be positive *extra stress realizing you have cancelled your maternity coverage on your insurance
3. Hold pee till you think you will pee the bed waiting for husband to leave for work
4. Finally get to pee on stick
5. Watch windows for change
6. See the -- in the circle and the I in the square
7. Mis-read the results as positive.
8. Instantly freak the hell out, shaking, nauseous, feeling faint
9. Realize you had read the control window's I as a positive when it's actually negative
10. Wonder if 6:30 a.m. is too early for a strong drink

There! 10 easy steps for being wide awake first thing in the morning.

Robin, I love you!!

I found a suit at Land's End!! It even came in my size and was ON SALE!! My two favorite words. I got a black tankini. Couldn't decide between black or blue but went with black. The black will contrast nicely with my lily white skin don't you think?

I'm so glad to get that out of the way! Now it's just on to panic about what to wear, what to pack and what we are allowed to take on the plane.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion Robin.

Swimsuit in December

Have you ever tried to find a swimsuit in December? It's not easy! I'm looking for a new suit since we go to Hawaii in about a month. (insert freaking out sounds here) and my old suit is kind of worn out. I'm looking online but am too cheap to pay $60 for a suit. A friend of mine insists I need a tankini since it's easier to deal with if you have to go pee while you are wearing it. I can see her point but I'm FAT! Do I really need to wear a tankini? She says they cover you really well and no one would notice but I'm still a little leary.

But then I think heck, I'll never see those people again so why worry. But then I remember we are going with a group. I'll be seeing some of them again and I don't want to be "that fat lady" they all talk about at the next trip.

Now if I can just convince husband he will be looked at if he DOESN'T wear shorts and possible sandals on the beach. He will be "that guy" if he wears his usual jeans and boots right? LOL

Sigh. It's too much to think about now. I'll just have to make myself NOT think about it til after Christmas.

I think I got sexually harassed!

I called a customer a few days ago to remind him of a deadline that was approaching and he needed to fill out some paperwork before then. He complimented me on being so efficient and asked me if I wanted to be his personal secreatary. I asked how much it paid. He said "well all my other ones just got to sleep with me"! Well, I have to think about that one!!

Of course all this was said joking around and we both knew it, but I got to thinking some people would have really freaked out about that comment.

I hate it when people close up shop

I'm so bummed that Karen from The Naked Ovary closed her blog. :( I loved reading about her and now her sweet little girl. I keep clicking the link hoping that she's changed her mind.

Bummer.

My girl and Santa

Here is sister and Santa. Brother was "too shy" to see Santa. LOL

She told Santa she wants a kit for making gingerbread houses!?!?? What the heck is that all about?

Brother wants a combine with a "hauger", which is his way of saying auger and a gun.

Ok Robin and Terri

You girls got me wondering. How do I check my stats on my blog? I NEED to know how to do this.

I had a Christmas nightmare last night. Nothing to do with stats, but I'm to lazy to start a new post.

I have been storing most of the kids Christmas presents at work so I don't have to worry about them finding them. I dreamt last night that it was Christmas morning and we were opening gifts. I realized I had left most of the gifts at work! I was running around the house trying to keep them distracted while I figured out how to sneak out of the house and go to the office to get the gifts. None of them were wrapped, so I needed to get that done too.

I dreamt that stupid dream all night!

Tomorrow is my mom's side of the family (my aunts and uncles) Christmas party at mom's. Of course we have a thousand other things to do that day too. Then to top it all off Sister got an invitation to her best friends birthday party for that day, at the same time as my mom's party! UGH. She's never missed one of his parties but I told her this morning....family comes first. I hope that's the right thing to do. Parenting is hard, I don't know what the hell I'm doing 90% of the time.

Tomorrow morning is the Lowe's kids clinic where the kids get to build stuff. They love it and it's so cute to see all the little kids banging away with their hammers! It's free too!

Then in the early afternoon our town has a kids shopping day. You take your kids, send money and the kids get to shop. Parents aren't allowed in the back where the gifts are only kids and some helper volunteers. Then they wrap the presents before the kids leave. It's so fun since that's one of the few presents that I don't know what's in it. And Sis has fun too.

And just to brighten your weekend here's another Calvin & Hobbs for ya!

Things that make me Thankful

Sister brought this home from school, it's a paper she's written on what makes her Thankful. She's 8 and in 3rd grade. I love this girl!

Turkey is a beautiful feast.
Happy to see everybody.
Autumn is a time of beauty.
Nuts are what squirrles store.
Kibble is good for dogs.
Squirrels store nuts in the ground.
Give nice things.
Ice is coming close.
Vilets are not coming up.
Igloos are hard to make.
Nibble on turkey.
Go have fun!

I tried to type it just like she wrote it, so any spelling errors are hers, not mine! Yep,that's right, all her!

Isn't this just the best thing you've read?
